Ceres Class with Gael Chilson

Ceres was discovered on January 1,1801 and named after Cerēs, Roman Goddess of Agriculture and the Eleusinian Mysteries, also known to the Greeks as Demeter, (da mater) earth mother. She was called an asteroid until she was promoted to dwarf planet status at the same time that her old nemesis, Pluto, was demoted to dwarf planet status. Ceres, the archetypal mother, shows how you were nurtured and how you nurture others.

In this lecture I will take you through the astronomy and then the myth, the details of how she might act inyour chart and how her synodic cycle (Shamanic Astrology style) of 23 years shows up in our lives. Currently Ceres is spending a long time in Capricorn (10 months). All we have to do to see the potency of this little dwarf planet is to watch the news every so often and the negotiations around motherhood – or if you have a strong emphasis of Capricorn in your chart, how issues around mother/mothering /motherhood and the darker side of Ceres such as anger, revenge and grief are showing up for you.

BIO: Gael Chilson has been practicing astrology for almost 50 years. She picked up her first book “The Astrology of Personality” by Dane Rudyar, in 1969. Gael found the Tucson Astrologers’ Guild in 1985 and immediately felt at home. Thanks to the “Astro-Players” she found herself at the first UAC in 1986, being part of the entertainment crew.

In 1989 Gael met Daniel Giamario who started the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School, now re-branded as the Turning of the Ages Mystery School and got certified as a Shamanic Astrologer in 1999. Gael has taught many classes in Night Sky Cosmology, her specialty, in southern Arizona. Ceres became her second specialty in 2019.
